    The Stock System:

    Integral to the new 4.0 Twin Turbo engines power output is not only the turbochargers but the charge air (compressed air) cooling system. A system to cool the charge air is required because when air is compressed by the turbochargers it heats up and for optimum performance, this air needs to be cooled again. Cooler air going into the engine means much denser oxygenation and improved knock resistance, two key factors when seeking to maintain or improve power. 

    This cooling system consists of two charge air coolers which cool the charge air, a water circuit which flows through a pump, into the charge air coolers and into a heat exchanger which then cools the water that has been used by the charge air coolers to cool the compressed air. 

    As boost pressure is increased as is common with any ECU software upgrade (Stage 1/2/3) this introduces more heat into the charge air cooling system. The stock charge air cooling system works very well for stock boost levels, however, once boost levels are raised it can struggle to keep charge air temperatures consistently cool. 

    The CSF Upgrade

    The CSF All-Aluminum Heat Exchanger (Charge Cooler Water Radiator) improves the cooling power of the stock heat exchanger which cools the water that cools the charge air. With a more powerful heat exchanger, it can more effectively remove heat from the hot water to help keep charge air temperatures cooler and improve resistance to heat soak.

    B-Tube technology Unlike a regular oval shape O type radiator tube, CSF uses a specially engineered tube in a shape of a B. These B-tubes are carefully formed and then brazed over the seam to seal. CSF is able to use thinner and lighter aluminium material (giving better cooling efficiency) because this design is actually stronger than normal O shape tubes that are welded. The design of the inlet in the middle of tube that is seam brazed, increases the heat transfer surface area of the tubes by approximately 15% over regular tubes. You get the efficiency of 2 smaller tubes vs. 1 large tube within the same space criteria.

    High Efficiency Multi Louvered Fin CSF uses ultra efficient multi louvered fins that are carefully and precisely aligned to maximize airflow through each radiator core. Fin specifications are carefully measured and calculated for each application, and tested for maximum heat rejection efficiency in our wind-tunnel lab.

    OE Radial Tanks Flat and rounded end-tanks that are welded together and finished with our 1 hour Show-Stopper mirror polish process. For the customer who likes the sleek and smooth look, and wants to display the intricate welding associated with this design.

    Deep Drawn Tanks The only high performance manufacturer to feature this advanced radiator technology. These end-tanks are stamped to the same geometry of the applications original plastic end-tank. These tanks feature less welding, and are generally considered the strongest tank designs in the industry. Also finished with their Show-Stopper mirror polish.
